Education Committee members are joined by volunteers from Manassas Christian School in preparing items for the Winter Warm-UP drive.
local education systems through activities and events that are mutually beneficial.
The Education Committee provides a connection between the business community and educators, building partnerships that enhance the educational experience for students in Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. Annual activities include:
- Scholarship Program: Raises funds in support of scholarships that reward students with a demonstrated commitment to academic success and the community.
- Tools for School: Partner with local businesses, community members and charitable agencies to deliver school supplies and backpacks to students in need.
- National Young Readers Day: Coordinate volunteers to read at elementary schools throughout Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.
- FBLA Speed Networking: Support local high school FBLAs (Future Business Leaders of America) in conducting a speed networking event that teaches students basic networking skills.
- Reality Store: Partner with local banks, Prince William County, City of Manassas Park and Manassas City Schools to provide financial literacy education to local high schools.
- Speakers Bureau: Contact Chamber members to speak on a number of topics .
- Winter Warm-UP: Community campaign to deliver warm clothing and to students at Title I schools.
The committee is co-chaired by Denyse Carroll of SPARK and Jamie Medders of Tri-Ed Tutoring.
