Spotlight: Kenna’s Cookies

Kenna Cuomo had long given family and friends gifts of baked goods.  In 2008, while reading thank you Kenna's Cookiesnotes from grateful recipients of her treats, the idea for Kenna’s Cookies was conceived.

Kenna began by selling her all-natural cookies at the farmer’s market in Warrenton.  Now, her cookies can be found at area gift stores, coffee shops, gift basket companies and online at www.kennascookies.com.  Cookies are shipped throughout the US.  Free local delivery is always available, and free shipping is also offered on orders of over $36.00.

“We are always looking to expand into more specialty shops; places looking for that unique gift idea. We also look forward to expanding our work with caterers and restaurants looking for a great dessert to offer clients,” said Kenna.

All types of business can enjoy Kenna’s highly successful corporate gift program.  Kenna noted that this program is particularly popular during the holidays.  Barb Main, owner of J & J Automotive, is among the program’s very satisfied customers.

Kenna’s Cookies prides itself in baking all cookies from scratch, using no preservatives or additives.  Organic ingredients are used when available.

“Our goal is offering a product that stands above the rest.  I have been told that our almond coconut macaroons are addicting! They also happen to be gluten free,” said Kenna.

The company’s products are indeed standing out.  Receiving a Virginia’s Finest Trademark in 2009 and being named “a gift worthy delicacy” by the Washington Post Sunday Magazine in 2010.  WUSA 9 News has twice invited Kenna to participate in its baking segment (click to view).

In addition to offering a superior product, Kenna credits Chamber membership as a factor in her business success.  “Being part of the Prince William and Greater Warrenton Chambers allows me to network with other small businesses and attain a wealth of information, which has helped me steadily grow Kenna’s cookies and achieve my business goals,” said Kenna.
